Klüh Cleaning lands contract at Hanover Airport

Flughafen Hannover-Langenhagen GmbH has once again commissioned Klüh Cleaning, a subsidiary of the Klüh Group, with comprehensive cleaning services at Hanover Airport as of 1 April. The cleaning specialist was able to convince the airport company with a precisely tailored concept for optimised building management.

Under the contract, Klüh Cleaning works every day around the clock to clean a total area of around 62,000 square metres, which covers terminals, administrative buildings and adjoining properties. The services include ongoing maintenance cleaning, exterior cleaning, the provision of supplies and the cleaning of sanitary areas as well as continuous special cleaning tasks.

Digital tools take building management to a new level

Due to the scope, increased security requirements and changing passenger numbers, the coordination and planning of staff is very demanding. To make the processes simpler, more efficient and transparent, and to save costs and resources in the longer term, Klüh works on site with the DigiClean® management system it has developed itself. Based on a catalogue of requirements with a schedule of services and a corresponding checklist, this conveys in real time what is to be cleaned, with what priority and in what order. In addition, using the connected service portal DigiService, short-term customer enquiries can be accessed very quickly by the cleaning staff and any problems promptly solved. At the same time, sensors make it possible to monitor the filling levels of consumables or the frequency with which the WC areas in the terminals are used.

Hanover Airport is one of the most dynamic driving forces for the Hanover Region and a significant economic factor. For 2023, the airport reckons with close to 5 million inbound and outbound passengers. With over 10,000 employees throughout the entire campus, the airport location is also an important job engine.

Klüh has been an experienced and competent partner for airports, airlines and handling companies in Germany and internationally for over 40 years. The core competencies comprise networked services which, alongside terminal-related cleaning services, also include aircraft interior cleaning, on-board equipment, ramp and hangar operations, maintenance tasks, security, wheelchair services and assistance for people with restricted mobility.
