Stadtwerke Düsseldorf extend Klüh contract by five years

Stadtwerke Düsseldorf has now extended its contract for catering services, which it has held with the multi-service provider Klüh since 2017, for a further five years. Klüh’s catering division was able to hold its own against other contenders in the context of a new public tender.

“Despite significant challenges in the last few years, Klüh Catering has always been a reliable partner for us, and has not only kept its performance promise, but also responded to the wishes of the table guests. Along with an appropriate price-performance ratio and an appealing concept, this was the decisive factor for us”, explains Thomas Wigge, Head of Occupational Health and Safety Management at Stadtwerke Düsseldorf.

Under the contract, Klüh Catering caters for the employees of the Stadtwerke’s core companies at six locations in the state capital. The balanced food concept, which also features vegetarian products, includes breakfast and lunch, depending on the location. Klüh Catering also provides support with conference and boardroom services.

To give the diners a sense of the environmental footprint of the meals on offer, Klüh displays the sustainability value of each dish on site as well as in the Klüh Catering app. Here, not only the standard CO₂ is determined, but in future also factors such as water consumption and animal welfare will be included. Other functions of the Klüh Catering app include nutritional information on the daily menu, information on allergens and additives, special offers, culinary promotions and promotional dishes.

Stadtwerke Düsseldorf AG has been a service provider for electricity, gas, water and district heating for over 150 years and is also responsible for waste disposal in the state capital. As one of the largest municipal utility companies in Germany, Stadtwerke Düsseldorf supplies around 600,000 customers.
