Klüh Catering embraces plant-based variety in “Veganuary”

In January, Klüh Catering demonstrated once again just how tasty and versatile plant-based cuisine can be. In the context of the international “Veganuary” campaign, the company invited diners and employees across Germany to try out vegan dishes for a month. For this purpose, 85 company restaurants run by Klüh Catering put the spotlight on plant-based options in their menus.

By taking part in “Veganuary”, Klüh Catering emphasises its commitment to promoting a contemporary, sustainable food culture. “What we eat directly impacts the environment, climate, and animal welfare – at the same time, interest in healthy, conscious eating is clearly growing. With our vegan offerings, we aim to show that plant-based cuisine does not mean sacrifice, but rather good food, variety and quality”, says Thorsten Greth, Managing Director at Klüh Catering.

During the campaign month, diners were able to choose from seven different vegan dishes. Within four weeks, a total of around 30,000 meals were served as part of the initiative. The response confirms that we are on the right path: plant-based alternatives have long been an established part of modern workplace catering.

Aside from “Veganuary”, Klüh Catering has already been committed to meat-free concepts for years. Vegetarian and vegan dishes have been part of the regular menu in the company restaurants since 2016. This is complemented by regular promotional weeks with a plant-based focus. In addition, Klüh Catering is a founding member of the “Allianz für Verantwortungsvolle Esskultur” (Alliance for Responsible Food Culture), which promotes transparency and measurable sustainability in communal catering.

The term “Veganuary” is a portmanteau of the words “vegan” and “January”. The non-profit organisation of the same name, founded in the United Kingdom, encourages people worldwide to try a purely plant-based diet in January – ideally with an impact that extends beyond the campaign month. In 2025 alone, more than 25 million people around the world took part in the initiative.
