Klüh takes over infrastructure services at the “ruhr tech kampus essen”

Starting immediately, Klüh Cleaning, a subsidiary of the Klüh Group, has taken on the provision of infrastructure services at the “ruhr tech kampus essen” (rtke). These services are provided within the framework of a five-year joint venture (ARGE) with SPIE. The client is ruhr tech kampus essen-Management, which operates the technology and innovation campus in the west of Essen. Under the joint management arrangement, Klüh is responsible for the infrastructure building services, while SPIE takes the lead on technical facility management and heads the joint venture.

With its office, event and catering facilities, the rtke provides space for around 6,000 people to work, connect and innovate. The campus comprises a total of ten buildings serving a variety of purposes, including office space, as well as event and catering facilities. The wide variety of different uses and the associated requirements make reliable and well-coordinated management of the premises essential.

“The ruhr tech kampus essen is a sophisticated location. We are delighted that our infrastructure services make an important contribution to the reliable operation of the site. This contract also demonstrates how important the combination of different facility management capabilities is for efficient building management,” says Frank Theobald, CEO of the Klüh Group.

Infrastructure services for a campus that accommodates a wide range of activities

With this contract, Klüh is bringing its expertise in infrastructural building management to the running of the rtke. The services form part of a joint management structure in which technical and infrastructural tasks are closely interconnected. The aim is to reduce interfaces, simplify processes and coordinate the provision of the various services.

The various building cleaning services provided by Klüh include maintenance, special and thorough cleaning, as well as the cleaning of glass surfaces and sanitary areas. The range of services is complemented by the provision of consumables, winter maintenance, gardening and grounds maintenance, pest control and interior landscaping. Around 70 Klüh employees are deployed on site every day, jointly managing an area of over 600,000 square metres and more than 4,000 rooms.

For its day-to-day operations, Klüh relies on its digital management system, EcoServ. The solution combines sensors, smart buttons and digital runsheets, enabling information on building usage and current service requirements to be integrated into the operational planning process. In this way, services can be tailored to meet needs, processes can be made more transparent, and resources can be deployed more effectively. Business intelligence assessments also lay the foundations for the ongoing analysis and optimisation of processes.

“On a campus with such a wide range of uses, it is especially important to coordinate the various requirements for building operations. With our expertise in infrastructural facility management, we make an important contribution to ensuring that processes on site run smoothly and that the services are tailored to the customer’s requirements,” says Daniel Carnol, Managing Director of Klüh Cleaning.
