The Klüh subsidiary Berkeley Services will continue to be responsible for the maintenance cleaning of the Burj Khalifa – at 828 metres, the world’s tallest building and landmark of the United Arab Emirates. The contract extension, which began on 1 January 2026, underlines the confidence that the property developer Emaar has placed in the service quality and performance of Berkeley Services for many years.
With more than 9,000 employees, Berkeley Services is among the leading providers of integrated facility management services in the United Arab Emirates. The company has been responsible for cleaning the Burj Khalifa since it opened in 2010 and its specialised team keeps the impressive skyscraper spotlessly clean every day – from the lobby and the office and residential areas to the highly frequented visitor zones.
“We are delighted by the renewed trust placed in us by our long-standing partner Emaar”, says Karl-Heinz Otto Mair, Chief Executive Officer International (CEO International) of the Klüh Group. “The contract not only attests to the outstanding work carried out by our team on site, but is also a clear sign of Berkeley Services’ strong market position in the region.”
Alongside the Burj Khalifa, Berkeley Services’ references include numerous other prestigious clients, including Emirates, dnata, Atlantis The Royal, Atlantis The Palm, Miral, First Abu Dhabi Bank, HSBC, the United Arab Emirates University as well as international companies such as JLL and Siemens Energy. In addition to technical facility management, its service portfolio also includes cleaning, security, landscape gardening and grounds maintenance, laundry services and other infrastructure services.
The international subsidiaries, of which Berkeley Services is one, are an important pillar of the Klüh Group. In 2024, Klüh generated international sales of 322.6 million euros, which corresponds to 30.2 per cent of total sales. Internationally, the family-owned company with its headquarters in Düsseldorf is represented not only in the United Arab Emirates, but also in China, Turkey, the Netherlands and Poland.
